Positive: We had a wonderful stay at Borgo d’Asso over New Year’s Eve, and the experience exceeded our expectations. The compound itself is incredibly beautiful. Even in winter, the views are breathtaking — classic Tuscan landscapes with rolling green hills, cypress trees, vineyards, and olive groves. We went hiking in the surrounding area, and it was truly stunning and very peaceful. We stayed in a one-bedroom apartment, which was comfortable, well designed, and perfectly suited for two people. The entire property feels very well cared for and thoughtfully curated. The spa was a real highlight. It includes a dry sauna, Turkish bath, jacuzzi, and a cold ice-water bucket, plus a lovely relaxation area with tea and water. Slippers, robes, and towels are provided, and everything is impeccably maintained. Despite being New Year’s Eve, the atmosphere was calm and quiet — exactly what we were looking for — with just a glimpse of distant fireworks. The location is excellent: close to Sienna and very near many great wineries and restaurants. It’s an ideal base for exploring the area while still feeling completely immersed in nature. The property is very romantic for couples, but they also offer larger villas that are perfect for families or groups. In fact, we are already planning to return for a team-building retreat in one of their bigger villas. Caterina, who handled our stay and communication, was absolutely wonderful. She is also a sommelier, and on our departure we purchased several of their organic products — wine, chocolate, pasta, and olive oil. We’ve already opened the rosé, which officially became our favorite: beautifully layered, with great body and elegance. The focus on sustainability and regenerative hospitality is clearly genuine and very well executed. As professionals from the hospitality industry ourselves, we truly appreciated the quiet luxury of the furnishings, the buildings, the landscape, and the overall concept. Recommended as an authentic Tuscan experience.
