Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The private parking was available, which is important because it is on a narrow street with very few parking spaces available. Parking is difficult around Lake Como. The apartment had a designated spot immediately off the road for client parking. The private garden overlooking the lake is a nice feature. Spectacular views. However, there were ants everywhere in the garden. They did not seem to bite, but they were distracting. There is a very cute courtyard at the entrance with a fountain and a large wooden table that is shaded. Nice touch. Large living room. Easy and scenic walk to some really good restaurants along the waterfront. Very responsive host who made excellent restaurant recommendations and answered questions quickly.

Negative: There was a lot of traffic on the small road going past the apartment, so there was road noise, including loud motorcycles, which are unfortunately ubiquitous in Italy. The bed was uncomfortably stiff. We had a temporary problem in that the apartment had not get been cleaned when we arrived in the evening. We made the reservation only 30 minutes earlier, and apparently the cleaning service hadn’t bothered to come that day. But the manager of the apartment, accessible on WhatsApp and through booking.com messaging, was very responsive and had the cleaning crew sent up immediately. We went to dinner and the apartment was ready for us on our return.
