Travel Purpose: business

Positive: The location of this apartment is perfect for guests who want to stay in the town centre. It is literally in the city centre surrounded by shops, restaurants, tram stops - everything! Despite this, once you are in the room and you don’t open the windows, the area is quite calm. We didn’t hear any excessive noise from outside. The living room is spacious, the couch/sofa is thick and comfortable, the bathroom is clean, and the pantry is adequate enough for basic needs. The apartment also includes a refrigerator and hob to boil water for tea. We generally don’t drink coffee so we had no use for their coffee machine.

Negative: • Flies in the apartment We found at least 10-15 flies inside the apartment, some trapped behind the curtain. We managed to chase and kill some of them but some were still flying around till the time we left. We couldn't open the windows for fresh air, for fear of more flies entering the apartment. This fly problem is directly linked to the presence of 6 big rubbish bins outside (business size, not the usual residential size presumably from neighbouring restaurants), right next to the apartment's blue entrance door. • Health and Safety issue outside the apartment There was a pipe left leaning to the wall, just in front of the key box. This pipe had a long pointed spike, pointing facing the key box. If one is not careful, one could easily injure oneself on that long spike (with a big Tetanus risk) while trying to retrieve or return the apartment keys. This is very dangerous and it is the landlord’s or their agent’s responsibility to do something about this hazard. • Certain housekeeping issues The wash basin sink was clogged and filled up within seconds of opening the tap, because the housekeeper never checked and cleared out the water basin drainage. Became less sanitary after repeated use. • Communication issues Tried to contact the landlord or their agent (in French and English) for instructions on how to turn on the fan to help with flies and the heat, but they never got back to me.
